History:

“Me demore en restaurarlo 2 años y sigo poniendole muchas cosas”.

Translation: Took me 2 years to restore, but I am continually adding stuff.

“Lo encontre en un patio, y me lo compre, luego lo metyi a un garage donde lo estaba arreglando “.

Translation: Found it parked on a driveway and bought it, immediately took it to a garage where it was restored.

“Le estoy poniendo muchas cosas con mi mecanico “.

Translation: Still adding new parts and accessories along with my mechanic.

The owner has subsequently mentioned that he intends to keep this beauty as original as possible.

Telling by the pictures, I would say that he is keeping to his word.

Additional Facts:

The 1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 was part of the second generation of the Chevrolet Camaro which included the model years between 1970 and 1981.

Unlike the first generation which was rushed through development, the second generation Camaro was allowed a longer development period and it also had a greater budget allocated thanks to the first generation’s success.

Although it had an all-new look, the unibody structure was the same as that of its predecessor however, the second generation boasted improved comfort as well as performance thanks to improvements made to the chassis and the suspension.

Other improvements included improved braking, balance and steering. Unfortunately due to the new emission regulations and the fuel crisis, the Camaro just like other similar muscle cars of the era went through major styling and power train changes that almost killed the muscle car.

Description of Picture on the Right:
This is a picture of the 1978 Chevy Camaro Z28’s engine. The owner of the car didn’t go into details about the engine, all he said is that it is a V8 Small Block (built by Ricardo Valencia). If this is the original engine, it is probably a 350CID that produces 185 HP and 280 ft.lb. of torque. This was the engine that the 1978 Z28’s came with. To complete the powertrain, the Z28’s transmissions were either 4-speed, or a TH-350 3-speed. Click the Picture to enlarge.

Here is a picture of the 1978 Chevy Camaro Z28’s dashboard. Unlike a previously submitted picture, this one is pretty clear. It is obvious on the picture that apart from the extra gauge mounted on the dash, the interior of this muscle car has been kept original. In fact, according to the owner, he wants to keep this classic as original as possible. Telling by the looks of this picture, I would say that he is keeping true to his word.
