  • Transmission Unknown.

Just bought it. Turning it into a project show car. Love this car.

Additional Facts:

The fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro is being produced at the General Motors Oshawa Car Assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. General Motors decision to invest US$740,000,000 in converting the Oshawa Car Manufacturing plant into a flexible state of the art manufacturing facility could not have come at a better time.

The plant had previously been scheduled for closing in 2008. Had not been for the decision to convert the plant to produce the Camaro in Oshawa, more than 2,700 jobs would have been lost. Production of the fifth generation Camaro had been scheduled to start end of 2008 and the first model year was supposed to be a 2009 Camaro.

However, in March of 2008, General Motors announced that production would be delayed until the following year. The new start scheduled date was February 2009 for the 2010 model year going on sale Spring of the same year. The previous generation had ended with the 2002 model year.

Coincidentally, production of another well known American Muscle car, the Pontiac Firebird also ended production with the 2002 model year. As of the writing of this article, end of Summer of 2011, the Pontiac Firebird has not resumed production and as far as I know there are no plans to bring it back to life.

The 2010 model was only available as a coupe even though the Convertible Concept had been introduced back in January of 2007 at the 2007 North American International Auto Show. Production of the Convertible began in January of 2011 and started arriving at the dealerships in February of the same year as 2011 Convertible models.

Present Or Future Plans:

Planning to add some engine accessories and an aftermarket exhaust.

My Ride’s Pictures:
11 Chevy Camaro Description of Picture on the Left:
Great picture of the 11 Chevy Camaro. Actually the picture is a bit dark I guess because it is a picture of the shaded side of the car. It is true that black cars look better in the shade and this being a black car is no different. The car also has rally stripes that ran all the way from the front bumper to the rear bumper. The factory chromed wheel rims look great on this car. Click on the Pic and it will open another page with a larger picture.
Description of Picture on the Right:
Front corner detail of the 11 Chevy Camaro. This car has nice clean lines that make it look great. This picture shows the rally stripes that start on the lower part of the bumper and ran over the hood and continue on top of the roof. The engine on this muscle car is a 6.2 L (6,162 cc /376 cu in) V8 and it’s either the LS3 or the L99. If it is the LS3 it generates 426 hp (318 kW) at 6,000 rpm. If it is the L99 it generates 400 hp (300 kW) at 5,900 rpm. Click on the Picture to see a larger picture.

11 Chevy Camaro Description of Picture on the Left:
Picture of the rear of the 11 Chevy Camaro. The picture is a bit too dark, so it is not a great picture, but it is good enough to show the rear spoiler, the rally stripes from the top of the spoiler and going down to the under side of the bumper, but stopping there. Also visible is the rear 20×9 Inch aluminum wheel rim with a P275/40ZR20 Pirelli PZero mounted on it. Click on the picture to enlarge it.
Description of Picture on the Right:
Rear corner detail picture of the 11 Chevy Camaro. Again, the rally stripes are clearly visible as are the rear lights and the exhaust pipe as well as the rear wheel. This car has four-wheel disc with ABS ventilated front and rear disk brakes and four-piston fixed Brembo aluminum front and rear calipers. The front rotors are 14 Inch (360 mm) in diameter and the rear are 14.4 Inch (370 mm). To see a larger picture, click on this one to open a new page with a larger picture.

11 Chevy Camaro Description of Picture on the Left:
Front and side view picture of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. Another somewhat dark picture, but some detail of the front is visible, like the rally stripes, the headlights the fog lights and also the side of the car. It is the sides of this car that mostly resemble the nostalgia look of the first generation Camaro. The wheel base is 9 Inch (23 cm) shorter than its predecessor and overall length 7 Inch (18 cm) shorter as well. Click on this picture to enlarge it (it will open a new page).
