Specifications:
  • LT1 Corvette Engine (subsequently replaced according to the owner).
  • 200C Turbo Hydromatic Transmission.
History:

I have been working on the truck for a couple of years now doing all the work myself except for paint. It’s been a fun project.

The truck was originally purchased by a Rancher in Ripon, CA. At some point his Son decided to make a “street rod” out of it. What he managed to do was make a mess out of it. When I bought it, it had the LT1 Corvette engine in it with a fully synchronized 3 speed manual transmission. The bench seat had been removed and replaced by a pair of terrible looking bucket seats.

This truck is my “daily driver” which allows me to keep my 57 Bel Air two door hardtop (which is completely restored) hidden in the garage most of the time.

My Ride’s Pictures:
57 Chevy 3100 Description of Picture on the Left:
Nice Picture of the 1957 Chevy 3100 Step Side. Nice Truck… Unusual color though. I think that this is the first time I see an old beauty in this color. I am not saying it’s an ugly color or anything to that effect, all I am saying is that I have not seen a vintage truck in this color before. Can you imagine this Truck with an LT1 Corvette Engine in it? Well, that is what it had when the owner bought it. Click on the Picture to enlarge.
Description of Picture on the Right:
This Picture shows the Engine that is now in the 1957 Chevy 3100. Originally (when the owner bought it) it had an LT1 Corvette Engine in it, but the present owner replaced it with this power plant. I am sure that you agree that this is a much more suitable engine for such a beauty. Click on the Pic to enlarge.

57 Chevy 3100 Description of Picture on the Left:
Great Picture of the 1957 Chevy 3100 interior. Everything inside this beauty looks original. Not only it all look original, but it also look brand new. It’s if the Truck just came out of the assembly line. There are no visible rips on the visible portion of the seats and there are no cracks or blemishes on the Dashboard. Description of Picture on the Right:
Driver side, Rear Corner Picture of the 1957 Chevy 3100. This Truck is all original except for the wheels and hub caps. The owner didn’t provide any information regarding what kind of wheel rims the Truck has, but they are definitely not OEM. However, the Truck looks great with them on, so there is nothing wrong with the owner’s choice. Please click on the Pic to enlarge.
